Birthdays

Sometimes i like to pretend that i don't care about my birthday. At 21 years of age, I convince myself its time to act like it - and the mature thing to do is to keep your cool and quietly thank those that wish you well.

This year I did not do that. I pretty much freaked out.

It's not my fault that I have such amazing friends and family who have showered me with such beautiful presents. I even had cupcakes spelling 'Happy 21st' home-made for yours truly by my gorgeous friend Britt (who personally delivered them to my door, might I add).

Which brings me to one of my presents...The polaroid book. My cousin Freda bought it for me and I read it cover-to-cover.
Again I was inspired by all the wonderful, quirky, artistic and hap-hazardly captured moments the polaroid cameras provided.
I was truly devastated when I found out polaroid stopped making instant film and cameras. Overnight, the wonderful cameras disappeared off the face of the earth before I even got my hands on one (for a reasonable price, of course).

Luckily, a couple of years ago I discovered poladroid: a program you can download free from the web that instantly turns all your photos into beautiful & nostalgic visual delights...It's not quite the same as holding a picture in your hand and the excitement you get from watching it develop...however it mimics this production process pretty well and satisfies me in a small way, because for a moment its like I have the real thing.

To get it yourself, visit www.poladroid.net.

Amateur Photography

A few years ago, I started to get really into lomography (who isn't these days?) Anyway, last year I entered a competition on broadsheet.com.au, entitled 'stolen moments' I didnt win anything, haha...but these are the best of the photos.

2011

The year of getting things done. (I've decided).

I've been thinking about blogging for a long time now.

Somehow, this year I feel like I'm full of go-power, so i'm going to start.

Why have dreams and not attempt to fulfil them, after all.
